Yes. New Zealand's requirement applies to all international arrivals without exception, based on the origin country. Any aircraft arriving from overseas — including from the United States — must arrive with valid disinsection documentation or be subject to on-arrival treatment and potential delays.
What Method Does New Zealand Accept?
New Zealand accepts the residual method. A single residual treatment provides up to 60 days of coverage, satisfying the requirement for multiple arrivals in New Zealand within that window.
Combining New Zealand and Australia on One Treatment
Many operators flying to New Zealand also include Australia in their itinerary, or travel to New Zealand via Australia. One residual treatment before departure covers arrivals in both countries within the 60-day validity window.
