Australia Aircraft Disinsection: Required for All International Arriving Flights
Australia requires disinsection on every internationally arriving aircraft without exception. The requirement is not conditional on where the flight originated — it applies to all flights, including those departing from the United States. This is one of the most consistently enforced biosecurity requirements in the world, governed by Australia's Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF).
No Exceptions — Every International Flight
Unlike countries that base their requirement on mosquito-risk zone designations, Australia applies its disinsection requirement universally. If your aircraft is arriving in Australia from any international departure point, it must be disinsected. There are no exemptions based on origin country, aircraft type, or flight purpose.
What Method Does Australia Accept?
Australia accepts the residual method. Residual disinsection provides lasting protection for up to 60 days and satisfies Australia's requirement for all arrivals within that window. We have performed disinsection for operators flying to Australia, and the documentation has been accepted on arrival.
What Documentation Does Greece Require?
Australia requires documentation beyond the standard WHO certificate. DAFF has its own required forms that must accompany the WHO Certificate of Disinsection. We provide both the WHO certificate and the DAFF-required country-specific documentation as part of our standard package. You do not need to source these forms separately — we prepare everything before we leave your aircraft.
Australia and New Zealand — One Treatment, Two Destinations
Operators flying itineraries that include both Australia and New Zealand frequently schedule one residual treatment before departure. A single treatment — valid for 60 days — covers arrivals in both countries if timed correctly. When you request a quote, tell us both destinations, and we will confirm the timing.
Australian Disinsection Enforcement
DAFF enforces Australia's biosecurity requirements consistently and thoroughly. Non-compliance results in mandatory on-arrival treatment, which causes delays and potential penalties under Australian biosecurity law. Planning is essential — this is not a requirement that can be addressed on the ground at arrival.
Headed to Australia?
We recommend scheduling treatment at least one week before your Australia departure to allow time for travel coordination and documentation preparation. The earlier you contact us, the smoother the process. If you are within a week of your trip, do not worry, we will do everything we can to make sure you get the service you need before you leave.
